Skipark/Bikepark Ružomberok
During the winter here you can come here for skiing, snowboarding, snowtubing and even iceskating. During the summer season the Skipark/Bikepark transforms into a paradise full of action; swimming, horseriding, mountainbiking, scootering (downhill), treeclimbing and even mountainclimbing.
Skipark Ružomberok
The cablecar (which is at 70m) ends at Malinô Brdo. From there you can continue going higher for skiing and snowboarding or go skiing downhill, back to Chata Lenka. But there are also other activities like snowtubing and icewall-climbing.
High Ropes parks: Tarzania & Tarzanka
On walkingdistance of Chata Lenka are two (small) climbing parks, where it is possible to go into the high ropes with climbcourses on two different levels for children and adults.
Thermal Park Bešeňová
Who wants to enjoy warm mineral baths outdoors (even comfortable in the winter) Bešeňová is the place to be. The healing power of natural warmth and the mineral wealth attracts people from far and wide. It is also a nice place to be for children.
Tatralandia
Aquapark Tatralandia is the biggest aqua-park in Slovakia and one of the biggest in Central Europe. There are 11 different swimmingpools (with several comfortable temperatures), 37 slides, a wellness centre with a beautiful sauna and several restaurants. Al together it is the ideal place for a day out with the children or with friends.
Demänová Cave of Liberty
A beautiful cave system of kilometers long, with a 'normal' tour of 1150m and a height difference of 86m. You will be led by stone waterfalls, stalactites and stalagmites and along large stagnant pools and clear streams.
WesternCity
WesternCity is a little village styled as an American Western Town with several saloons, a coral and other typical (wooden) houses. Indians and cowboys are walking the streets. It is situated beside TatraLandia and can also be entered through TatraLandia.
Likava Castle
Originally built in the 14th century and during the centuries extended and redone. Since the 18th century it became a ruine and nowadays it is restaurated. There is a small museum inside it where the history of the castle is told and some artifacts shown.
Kriváň
A national symbol of Slovakia is Mount Krivan (on the 1, 2 & 5 cents). Situated in the High Tatras is he to be seen with clear weather from Ruzomberok. For experienced hikers, the hike to the top isn't too hard and awaits in good weather a beautiful view over 'half' of Slovakia.
Liptovská Mara
Liptovská Mara is a dam reservoir with around it several touristical activities, like beaches, restaurants and a campingsite. Especially along the northern coast.
Vlkolínec
Besides Ružomberok is an old Slovak village. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Some houses are open to the public, in many others people are normally living.
Vlkolínec
Famous in Vlkolínec is the belltower. The village consists of dozens of typical Slovak (wooden) villagehouses, a catolic church and other original features of a village.
Liptov museum
Nice for a rainy afternoon. Here the history of the surroundings (Liptov) is shown and in teh botanical and zoological department are plants and animals to be seen. The history of the Liptov-region starts with the cavemen, but includes also the Celts, the Teutons (Germanic peoples) and the Slavic peoples.
Lúčky Waterfall
Very beautiful and fun waterfall lying in the middle of the traditional local village Lúčky.
Šútovo
Šútovo is a small village, behind the village (into Small Fatra) is a beautifull valley/canyon with at the end a waterfall. Nearby the village is a big digging where experienced swimmers can go for a swim (at their own risk).
